Christian
Dietert
who was a German millwright, built a mill on the Guadalupe River soon after he
arrived in 1857. This mill played an important role in
the growth of Kerrville
by processing crops and providing lumber for area homes
and buildings.
Charles Schreiner bought the sawmill & gristmill
operation in 1882.
