Bits of Info

The small town of Fredericksburg, Texas was founded and settled in 1846 by immigrants from Germany,
When John O. Meusebach led families from New Braunfels to a point 4 miles north of the Pedernales River.

Unique "Sunday" houses were built for
Use on weekends when they came to town from their farms on Saturday to
Buy supplies and attend church on Sunday. Some of these wonderful old houses are still standing today. See how many you can find.

Fredericksburg is the birthplace of Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, Commander in Chief of the Pacific Fleet during WWII. Tour the wonderful museum built in his honor.

Streets were designed to allow a wagon and a team of oxen to make a
"U" turn. The streets are still wide today, but don't make the "U" turn.
